Cancel auto-renewal of your Elite subscription


There are many payment methods available to a user to purchase a subscription including:

  • Google Play or iTunes (in-app purchases),
  • Digital River or Paypal (for credit card purchases),
  • 3Pay (for purchases billed to mobile phone accounts)
  • Your Elite account dashboard, and
  • more...

Because of the different payment methods, there isn't one specific way to turn off the automatic renewal of a subscription. Depending on how you paid for your subscription, follow the instructions for the following payment methods:

Your Elite account will remain active until your subscription expires. Canceling your subscription will stop it from automatically renewing and charging your credit card. You can continue to use Hotspot Shield’s Elite features to the end of your current subscription period.

Credit card or PayPal

If you paid with credit card or PayPal, your Order # will look like one of these:

If your Order # looks like ch_10368Y2BXjOctHwYkfzUEVt3, ST42345678 or HSS12345678, please submit a request. We will help you turn off the automatic renewal of your subscription. Please include the following in your message:

  • Your username (email you sign in with)
  • Order #
  • Reason for canceling

Google Play

If you purchased your subscription via Google Play, you can cancel the auto-renewal from the app page in the Google Play Store.

To cancel the automatic renewal, on your Android:

  1. Open Google Play Store.
  2. Search for “Hotspot Shield,” and select the Hotspot Shield app.
  3. In the subscription section, tap CANCEL.
  4. Then tap Yes to confirm cancellation.

iTunes

If you purchased your subscription via iTunes, you can turn off the auto-renewal of  your subscription from the App Store or iTunes. Learn how to manage your auto-renewing subscriptions.


3Pay

To cancel auto-renewal feature for your subscription purchased at 3Pay - please do the following:

To cancel the automatic renewal, on your mobile device:

  1. Text “IPTAL” to 7979.
  2. You will receive a message listing all your subscriptions on 3Pay and each subscription’s respective numeric cancellation code. Locate your Hotspot Shield subscription and cancellation code.
  3. Text “IPTAL” + Cancellation Code (e.g. “IPTAL 458”) to 7979.

Your Elite Dashboard

  1. Sign in to your Dashboard: http://hsselite.com/sign-in
  2. On the left, click Manage your profile.
  3. Click Subscription.
  4. Click Would you like to cancel your subscription?. 
  5. Fill out reason for cancelling. 

Other payments

If your payment method isn’t listed above, or you have difficulties canceling your subscription, please submit a request. We will help you turn off the automatic renewal of your subscription. Please include the following in your message:

  • Order #
  • Reason for canceling
