You must have a subscription service to a streaming service that broadcasts Formula 1 racing (i.e. ESPN, Network 10, RTL, or BBC Race Coverage), as well as a subscription to Hotspot Shield Premium to access the fastest servers dedicated for streaming in HD.

Follow the instructions below to watch Formula 1 racing with Hotspot Shield VPN, and read troubleshooting tips.

Instructions for using popular streaming services that broadcast Formula 1 racing

BBC Race Coverage

Open Hotspot Shield VPN and turn it on. Connect to “United Kingdom” server location and then connect to the BBC site.

Network 10 (Australia) https://tenplay.com.au

Everything on this site is restricted by geo-location. Set the virtual location for Australia in Hotspot Shield and then load the site.

RTL (Germany) https://www.rtl.de

To avoid the error message, "For legal reasons, we can not provide some videos of our offer in all countries outside Germany. Unfortunately, the video you chose is part of it" set the virtual location to Germany in Hotspot Shield and Formula 1 races will be available on the site.

ESPN Race Coverage

ESPN blocks race coverage of Formula 1 if you are outside the country but by setting the virtual location to the United States then access to Formula 1 is not a problem.

Step 1: Sign in to Hotspot Shield Premium, and turn the VPN on

Please verify the following information:

  1. I have a Hotspot Shield Premium subscription
Access to premium streaming services is a Hotspot Shield Premium feature. Make sure you’re subscribed and logged in so that you can select different server locations. If you don’t have a Premium account, subscribe here.

Check if you’re signed in to your Premium account. To do this, open the app, select the hamburger menu near the top left corner of the screen , and select “Account.”
  3. Hotspot Shield is turned on
To ensure that Hotspot Shield VPN is on and running in the background, you’ll see the timer counting upward from within the connect button, and you’ll be able to view and change server locations.

Step 2: Ensure that you’re connected to the correct virtual location
