You are connected to a network which requires authorization error

Make sure the following is TRUE:

  • You are connected to the internet (check if you can open any website online)
  • You have the latest Hotspot Shield version installed from the app store or click here
  • Your Android is NOT rooted
  • A 3rd party app is not interfering with Internet Settings 'For example, A Firewall with strict settings, or another VPN application.
  1. Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced > uncheck Avoid poor connection
  2. Settings > Manage Apps > Hotspot Shield > In App info tap Clear data
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Disable "Smart network switch” (Available on some devices) : Settings > Wi-Fi > uncheck Smart network switch.
  5. Connect Hotspot Shield
  6. Important: Sign in to your account or create one

If the steps above don’t help connect to a different network (for example, if you were connected to Wi-Fi, try connecting to your mobile data network or another Wi-Fi)
