Connected, but Cannot Browse Web - Part 2


First, make sure you have followed the steps explained here. If after running the Network troubleshooter you are still unable to browse despite being connected to Hotspot Shield, please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect Hotspot Shield
  2. Go to “Control Panel” >> “Network and Sharing Center” >> “Change adapter settings”
  3. Right Click on your Active Adapter and Click on “Properties”
  4. Double Click on “Internet Protocol Version 4”
  5. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses”
  6. For Preferred DNS server enter “8.8.8.8”; For Alternate DNS server enter “8.8.4.4”
  7. Make sure to have “Validate settings upon exit” checked
  8. Click OK
  9. Connect to Hotspot Shield
